Really sweet build Imster

Well done on this one - did you have reference pics for this build.

Cheers

John

Thanks John! Good to see you back here!

I had some reference but nothing substantial, mainly google photos

Imster, your work is top notch.  I am just getting started on the RC 166 and have a question.  How did you remove the factory 'bolts' on the tachometer mounting plate without damaging the raised lip around the edge?  I'm trying to add as much detail as I can along with the Tamiya upgrade kits for this awesome bike.

And what did you use to replace the cable attachment points ? For the thinner lines.... (throttle, clutch...)

Hi

Am totally in awe of your work! It's my all time favorite bike. Saw Hailwoods bike in bits in Motegi workshop. The noise as Redman rode around Olivers Mount in '97 still makes me grin. MFH made a reference book - Vol.5 is awesome...

Thanks @Wayne S!!! Very good question and I'm having a hard time trying to remember how because it was so long ago but I think I used a small 1mm chisel tool, just gotta be careful not to go to hard and damage the surrounding parts

I'm pretty sure I used 2mm wire which the tubing was put over

Apologies to everyone as I was moving house and I havent been able to come back online for a while, my bench is yet to be setup so it will be some time before I'm back building anything

Hi fellow modelers,

Just want to ask is it possible to use only the chain from tamiya rc166 to another bike model? Gear not included.

Hope you can answer me.

Thanks

I've been trying slightly times to a YZR500 (OW70) made.
The rc 166 chain is thicker and wider compared to a kit chain.(OW70)
Feasible determined, but you would rather guess to a MFH chain.
