  1. My entry for the group build! The plan is to get started and build as much as possible as quickly as possible as I will be on holidays for 3 weeks in November, so I wont have much time to get this finished up by the time I get back! I am going to be using a few detail up parts, not sure how much I will use at this point and I'm sure there will be some scratch building involved as well. I managed to buy this kit from someone on another forum and he had a Studio 27 detail up set for this, not sure how good it is but hopefully I will be able to make some use of it. I will also be using Zero Paints for this build Heres whats in the box plus a few detail stuff from MFH and Ejan on the left hand side I'm really looking forward to building this since its been almost 6 months since I last step foot in my workroom! updates to come and should come pretty quickly!

  4. A total departure from what I have been building recently! I decided to build this for a few reasons: 1) its an Ebbro kit and I wanted to see how well they have engineered their kits 2) I feel like something very different from what I have been recently building 3) I like cars and bikes that have their engines on display, this allows me to add the extra detail that I have OCD about! 4) I wanted to build something that won't take months on end to make (although I think point might end up being mute!) Anways onwards with the build! First impressions... What an ugly car! the front nose (shark nose) is so ugly I don't even know why I bought this kit! I should have gone for the blunt nose version which was the Tyrrell 004! Apparently despite its grotesque looks it did extremely well in the 1971 Formula One season, in fact it basically annihilated the opposition and Jackie Stewart was the driver who won the championship by a huge margin. So because the nose section is ugly I have decided to build this with the cowlings removed and I will build some miniature bodywork stands to sit next to the finished model. This will mean I will have to add some detail to the parts which will be uncovered, like the footwell area, behind the gauges, and at the front where the steering and suspension arms are (So that basically nullifies my 4th reason above for building this kit!) Heres the boxart (Ebbro are... How shall I say.... pretty unique with their boxart......) First up was to work on the bodyparts, these are all the parts that make up the cowling, they will all be painted Tyrrell Blue (Zero Paints). Not a fan of the ejection marks on the left hand side part and their placement where the footwell is as later on once complete those marks will show. The fitment of all the bodyparts are very tight, meaning once I put some paint on, the clearance between parts will be exteremely tight so I will probably have to do a little bit of massaging of the parts to get them to fit. I actually prefer it that way rather than having gaps between parts etc. I attached the shark nose together which consists of 4 pieces to make the structure of it and checked the fitment to the main cowling the fit was perfect without any adjustments required Next up was primer then the colour coat, the paint went on very well and the blue looks like an excellent match! Once again I tested the fitment after paint went on and the clearance was very tight so I might have to sand off the paint on the edges further down the line. That said I will be displaying this with the nose section removed so fitment isnt that important. Thanks for reading, I plan to build this one as fast as possible so stay tuned!!
  5. Last one for today;) 1/20 Ferrari 640 Tamiya. Pretty much OOB, added Marlboro decals, rivets and some other small things. Model is weathered. Finished about a year ago. Painted ZP Ferrari 70's/80's and Motip 1K clear. Hope you like it! Cheers, Martijn
  6. Another one.. Tamiya Ferrari F310B 1/20. I've used the Acu stion PE set, not super useful but contains some nice extras. Engine is extremely detailed, stock engine compartment was very simple, so this took me the most time. Detail parts are Acu stion, MFH and mostly scratch build. I always like weathered models so I've added some slight weathering effects. Painted in Tamiya TS49 and Motip clear. Finished around 2 years ago. Hope you like it! Cheers, Martijn
  7. Another day, another project! This time, Studio27 Ferrari 312T5 Monaco 1980. Finished around a year ago. It was a pretty good kit with only the normal Studio27 problems (ride hight far to high) Only big change I've done is rebuilding the front suspension due to a mistake by S27, the 312T5 had a shorter wheelbase in Monaco because of the many tight corners, S27 delivered the car with a regular longer wheelbase, problem fixed Painted in Zero Ferrari 70's/80's and Zero 2K clear. Hope you like it! Martijn
  8. Hi guys, Another project, I finished this one about 7 months ago. It's an 1:20 BBR project20 resin kit of the 1998 Ferrari F300 'X-wing'. The Xwings where introduced by Tyrrell in '97 and banned after Imola 1998, the race this Ferrari represents. The build took me about 6 months due to very bad parts. To keep it short, the only thing what's original OOB is the body, wings, suspension arms, cockpit/steering wheel etc. where fully made out of scratch or out of molds I made from the Tamiya Ferrari F310B. Brakes are from Topstudio, originally made for the F2000 kit, but after some changes also very useful for this car. Wheel'r painted with Alclad polished aluminum. Hope you like it Cheers, Martijn
